About Us

Batya D. Wininger, LCSW, MSW, MA, CSC, KAP, Rev., is a licensed psychotherapist, life coach, and spiritual practitioner offering therapeutic counseling as well as coaching sessions for individuals, groups, and businesses. In addition, she is a certified past life regression therapist and a member of KAP.

Through her studies, Batya has earned a Master's degree in cultural anthropology and a second Master's degree in clinical social work. She has trained extensively with Michael Harner (The Way of the Shaman) and Sandra Ingerman (Soul Retrieval; Welcome Home; Miracles for the Earth; and others), as well as with Doug Boyd (Rolling Thunder; Swami; Mad Bear; Mystics, Magicians and Medicine People), John Perkins (Shapeshifting; Spirit of the Shuar; The World is as You Dream It; The Stress-Free Habit), Edgar Delgado, Dr. Brian Weiss (Many Lives, Many Masters; Through Time into Healing; Only Love is Real; Messages from the Masters; Many Souls, Many Bodies), and Stephen Gilligan (The Courage to Love, Therapeutic Trances, and Walking Two Worlds).

Batya is a minister and faculty member of the Circle of the Sacred Earth, and has been director of the Mother Earth Healing Center in New York City. Over the years, she has been welcomed as an active friend at the Akwesasne (Mohawk), Hopi, and Dine (Navajo) Nations, as a board member of the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, and has participated in environmental actions with Pete Seeger.

Batya also developed the Support Store, an individual-oriented, goal-directed coaching practice. In addition to her previous private practice, Batya has worked as a psychotherapist for community mental health programs, both in Brooklyn, NY and in Nashville, TN.

Her ongoing spiritual and personal growth led Batya to study modern psychological therapy in order to provide a safe, supportive opportunity for growth to others. Presently, Batya has re-opened Passion-for-Life Psychotherapy as well as the independently run UPositive Life Coaching practice. She conducts a number of workshops, such as successful creativity, goal attainment, past-life regressions, and communication for couples. She participates actively in therapy sessions, utilizing a variety of methods tailored to your personal needs. Your individuality and concerns are always respected.

Although Batya's coaching practice is separate from her therapy practice, Batya brings the same level of professionalism to all individuals and groups.

Batya is also a published author; her list of work can be found here, as well as links to many of the articles. Currently, she writes Country lyrics, short stories, and is well into a series of murder mysteries.
